Canal Blau starts doing live transmissions with the new digital SVP system. With this system coverage is provided to the region of El Garraf.
This digital system, which allows the coverage throughout the region of El Garraf, is composed of a 3Watt COFDM transmitter and a diversity 6 receiver, located on a hill. On each diversity input, an antenna covering a different area is connected. As a result, the sum of all coverage areas, make possible to make live transmissions in the El Garraf region.
SVP Digital COFDM links and antennas have been used live broadcast Burgos Cycling Tour. SVP digital COFDM systems have been used to live broadcast Burgos Cycling Tour. SVP was there giving technical support during the race, which was successfully broadcasted. To receive the signal transmitted from the helicopter the AM-205 multisector antenna was used. Full coverage was achieved with no need to steer the antenna.
For the transmission of the Tour of Spain Cycle Race, TVE relies, for the third consecutive year, on SVP systems.
For the third consecutive year, SVP systems have been used for the backup system of the Tour of Spain Cycle Race. The backup system uses a repeater system installed on a plane. When the helicopters, due to bad wheather canb, not fly this backup system is used.
The multisector antenna has been recently developed by SVP. It consists of 4 sector panel antennas, which have 90º wide beam to provide 360º coverage, and an up-down antenna.
Among other applications, this multi-sector antenna is very useful to receive/transmit signals from a moving vehicle, such as a helicpter. When the helicopter is far a sector antenna will receive the signal and if it is near the signal will be received by the up-down antenna.Five down-converters are located inside the antenna so, the received signal is converted to the UHF band. The outputs of the antenna are connected the to a diversity 6 receiver. No external down-converters are needed. As shown on the photos below, this multisector antenna is a very compact, robust and easy to install solution.
TVE relies on SVP links to live broadcast the arrival of the World Cup Champions to Spain. Once again, TVE trust SVP to carry out complex live transmissions. This time TVE had to live broadcast and offer institutional signal of the arrival of the World Cup Champion team to Spain, the Spain National football team, and later tracking, in Madrid Streets, of the bus where the National team was celebrating its triumph.
For Basque Cycling Tour live broadcastonly SVP links have been used. SVP systems have been installed on motorbikes, helicopters and receiver sites as the OB truck of the finising line. This sport event has been broadcasted with great success in image quality and coverage.
Compatibility with Continental tripods and antennas.
SVP transmitter and receiver RF heads can be adapted to be used with continental tripods and antennas. This makes possible the use of continental links' high quality mechanical parts that, in other case, would fall into disuse. For more information: firstname.lastname@example.org
